RECIPES - DESSERTS - Apple Puff Pastry

recipes for vegans - apple puff pastry

Ingredients

3 cooked bramley apples
50g sultanas
ready made puff pastry
cinnamon
soya mIlk
margarine

Grease the baking tray with margarine. Roll out the pasty to fit on your tray and lay on.

Take your bowl of cooked apples and mix it with the sultanas and cinnamon.
Spread the mixture into the middle third of your pastry leaving a small space at the top and bottom so it doesn't spill out.

Now cut the unused pastry on the sides into horizontal strips of even size.
Now plait the sides of the pasty over towards the middle from top to bottom until all the apple is covered. If the pastry doesn't stick that well then brush with soya milk to bind together. Push the pastry together at the top and bottom to prevent too much apple escaping.

Brush soya milk on the top of the pastry when finished so it will brown.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200 for 10 mins. If it isn't browned enough for you put back for a few more minutes until golden and crispy.

This will serve approximately 6 poeple and is lovely with soya cream or custard.
