Break up the brocolli into small pieces and place into a saucepan with the noodles which have been broken up into small pieces. Chop the shallots finely and add to the mixture with some finely chopped ginger and a small pinch of chilli powder and plenty of soy sauce.
Pour over enough boilng water to cover the mix and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve as a starter to a chinese dish or as a lunch meal.
