Finely chop the sultanas and beat with the margarine to make a soft cream,
Mix the flour with the baking powder and spices and sieve. Beat it into the margarine mixture a spoonful at a time adding some apple every other spoonful. Then add in the carrot and stir thoroughly.
Put in a lined tin and bake for 20 minutes at 200 degrees until it is golden brown. A knife should come out clean if it is cooked through.
