RECIPES - ABBIE'S COOKERY PAGES - Homemade Popcorn

recipes for vegans - homemade popcorn

Ingredients

4 tbs cooking oil
4 tbs popcorn kernals
salt or other flavourings

Pour the vegetable oil in the bottom of a large saucepan. Put on a high heat until starting to bubble then add the popcorn kernals.
Once they start popping put a lid on the pan and reduce to a medium heat.
When the popping has slowed right down tip out into a large bowl. It is fairly easy to burn the popcorn, if you start to smell it then tip it out straight away, you can always put any unpopped kernals in to try again another time.
Season with salt or any other flavourings. We use paprika to give a nice flavour or you can use sugar for a sweet taste.

REMEMBER - the popcorn will be hot when you pour it out of the pan so wait a few minutes before eating it.

ABBIE SAYS - 'sorry about the picture but me and my sister liked the popcorn so much that we ate most of it while mum was finding the camera.'
